The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a program focused on training and developing leadership skills among full-time college students. It prepares them for opportunities to serve in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force. The Coast Guard also offers a similar program called the College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative (CSPI). Enrollment in ROTC provides a pathway to professional skill development, scholarship opportunities, and tuition assistance. Upon completion of the program, students can attain the rank of officer. Currently, more than 1,700 colleges and universities offer ROTC programs.
