DAAD Scholarships in Germany 2018:

DAAD Scholarships is for graduates to pursue their Masters in Germany.

Subjects:

DAAD scholarships are for students in the fields on visual communication, fine art, film, and design.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must possess a degree in one of the subjects mentioned above.
  • English language requirements by the chosen university.
  • Foreign Students are eligible to apply.

Scholarship covers:

  • Health, personal liability, and accident insurance
  • a monthly stipend of 850 euros
  • If you cannot find a source of funding, DAAD provides you travel allowance
  • One-off study allowance

Extra benefits under specific circumstances:

  • Allowance for accompanying family members per month
  • monthly rent
  • payment for a German language course during the scholarship period
  • after the receipt of scholarship award letter payment of online language courses ‘Deutsch-Uni Online’ (DUO) will be made to you for six months
  • TestDAF reimbursement fee
  • Alternative to the TestDAF  for participants who have taken a language course beforehand, the fee of DSH examination taken during the scholarship will be reimbursed
  • if necessary, you will be required to take a German language course of 2,4 or 6 months which will be funded by DAAD before the start of study visit

 

Fully Funded Programs

Degrees funded by DAAD :

Two types of degrees are funded by DAAD

1. Masters:

  • Starts usually from 1st October (earlier if a language course is taken prior)
  • Duration is between 10 to 24 months depending on the study program
  • If you are in your first year of a postgraduate course at the time of application, you can apply for funding of your second year. ( scholarship won’t be extended )
  • Maximum scholarship awarded is up to 24 months. For further funding, proof of academic achievements will be required that indicates study program can be completed.

2. Complementary studies:

  • duration is up-to one academic year
  • Starts usually from 1st October (earlier if a language course is taken prior)

Note: winning a scholarship from DAAD does not automatically guarantee admission to one of the universities. For admission in a university, you are required to give an entrance test (DAAD does not cover the costs of entrance examinations)
