Applications are now open for the DAAD Scholarships program for international students from all around the world who want to study in Germany and pursue Masters or Ph.D. level degrees, from a variety of subjects ranging from economics to media to vast types of science.

DAAD Scholarships Program:

It is an open invitation by the government of Germany to all students regardless of gender, from developing countries to apply online and get selected and enrolled into the top designated universities of Germany. It is funded by BMZ (federal ministry for economic cooperation and development).

Duration and Benefits:

The duration for funding of masters-level programs is 1-2 years whereas a 3-year Ph.D. is allowed under this scholarship. It wants most of the youth to get the benefit and then give back to the government. It does so by increasing the opportunities for success all around the globe.

It gives such financial benefit that a student simply has to be eligible and then will comfortably be able to complete their course however living expenses and accommodation are not offered. It is important to note that all required documents are to be submitted if anyone is missing you will automatically be ineligible for this scholarship.

DAAD Scholarships Program Cover:

  1. Fully Funded: 850/1200 euros monthly tution expense
  2. Personal liability insurance
  3. Health insurance
  4. Travel allowance
  5. Monthly allowance for accompanying family members
  6. Monthly rent subsidy

What are the Eligibility Criteria:

  • International student
  • Developing country native
  • 4-years Bachelors DEGREE in an appropriate subject
  • The academic degree shouldn’t be older than 6 years
  • 2 years of professional experience
  • Language requirements

Required Documents:

  1. DAAD Application Form.
  2. A hand-signed CV.
  3. A hand-signed letter of motivation (concerning current occupation), maximum of 2 pages
  4. Academic letter/s of recommendation (the letters must have a letterhead, a signature, and an official stamp and must be of recent date)
  5. Professional letter/s of recommendation from your employer (the letter must have a letterhead, a signature, and an official stamp and must be of recent date)
  6. Confirmation of employment from the employer in your home country and – if possible – a guarantee of reemployment.
  7. Proof of language abilities:
    English – TOEFL or IELTS (Note: We only accept an academic TOEFL)
    German – necessary for the courses taught in German; for the courses taught in English, if available
  8. (certified) copies of awarded academic degrees (certified translation if necessary)
  9. (certified*) copies of academic transcripts (certified translation if necessary)

The duration of the course varies as different universities and different subjects in which a master's degree is offered under this scholarship all have different systems under which the degree is taught and awarded. Thus every course takes time according to the subject.
