Eligible Countries for Hungarian Scholarships:

Citizens and nationals of the following countries can apply to this scholarship:

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo*, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Myanmar, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Nigeria, North Korea, North Macedonia, Palestine, the Philippines, Republic of Cabo Verde, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen.
Kosovo shall be taken according to Security Council resolution 1244, (1999)

Available Educational Institutes:

Selected candidates will be studying in one of the following universities:

  1. Szent István University, Faculty of Food Science
  2. Kaposvár University, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
  3. Szent István University, Faculty of Horticultural Science

What are the Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must have demonstrated an excellent school record.
  • Preference will be given to candidates under 30 years of age (but older people can also apply).
  • Applicants must be in good health.
  • Must be motivated to do well in studies.
  • Must be good at the English language.

FAO Hungary Scholarship covers:

  • Application fee
  • Tuition fee
  • Basic books/notes
  • Accommodation in dorms
  • Health insurance coverage
  • Needed living costs
