Applications are now open for Hurford Youth Fellowship for the year 2020 to 2021 for international citizens to apply for this program promoting and working for democracy not only on a national but international level as well.

This fellowship is hosted by the national endowment for democracy, world movement for democracy, the Hurford foundations and international forum for democratic students.

About Hurford Fellowship:

This programme is not an academic program thus university students are not eligible. Students who are connected with the democratic organization or youth organizations are always welcome to apply.

Employment outside Washington DC will not be approved as you are to be full time in NED worker until this fellowship ends. It is important to know that this fellowship is based on themes such as defending democratic space, strengthening democratic leadership, promoting inclusive governance.

The conditions of this fellowship are that researches have to be conducted in light of themes mentioned above, take part in discussions regarding such matters, attend events concerning democracy and facilitate online talks, contributing to the organization and conducting activities regarding the motive.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a resident in the NED
  • Not more than 30 years of age
  • Should demonstrate a strong interest in democracy

You need to show strong leadership skills to gain the upper hand in applications and each fellow will make at least one presentation of this fellowship to present publicly at the end of the fellowship. Getting the title of Hurford Fellowship Program Alumni is a bonus after completion of this programme.
