The MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship is mainly designed to support a broad range of experiences for international and DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students enrolled at certain colleges and universities. This scholarship is awarded annually and it is a fully-funded scholarship.

For study in the U.S., the applicant must meet one of these criteria:

• A valid visa that allows study in the U.S.
• Is protected under the DACA program.
• Is a permanent resident of the U.S. ( green card holder)

For study in Canada:

• Is a permanent resident of Canada
• Hold a valid Canadian study permit.
• You don’t have to be an MPOWER borrower or applicant to apply for the MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship as long as you meet the remaining eligibility criteria.

 The deadline to apply for the MPOWER fully funded scholarships in us and Canada is October 31^st, 2024 by 11.59 p.m. according to the Eastern Standard Time (EST). Candidates should apply as early as possible. They will notify you about the winners within 8 weeks of the deadline.

Ans.  After selecting the winners they verify each winner’s eligibility after which MPOWER sends a release to all the winners after the verification. The scholarship money is sent directly to the winner’s university or institution once MPOWER receives an executed release from the winner. The money is paid by any applicable legislation in the United States or Canada.

2. Can my scholarship get neglected?

Ans.  Yes, if the winner cannot be verified or if they neglect to sign the release then the MPOWER will choose a substitute and the winner will lose their eligibility for the scholarship.

3. How many scholarships are offered and should I have my visa approved by the time I apply?

Ans. The MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship will offer one USD, 10, 000 grand prize scholarship and two USD 2,000 scholarships. The candidate should have their visa stamped in their passport by the closing date of the competition.
