Oakland Promise Scholarship Application Form -

The Oakland Promise is an industry that aims to triple the number of college graduates from Oakland within the next decade. Students who graduate from Oakland High School may be eligible to obtain funding to attend Peralta College.

The mission of Oakland Promise is to engage the Oakland community to advance equity and monetary mobility through cradle-to-college and career accomplishment. In this article, we talk about the Oakland Promise Scholarship application form, eligibility, and application requirements.

Oakland Promise Scholarship Application Form

The Oakland Promise Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary institution (4-year college, 2-year college, or CTE program) immediately after high school. Students who receive the Oakland Promise Scholarship obtain scholarship funding as well as tutoring, mentors, networking opportunities, and other industry supports and services to achieve college success. The Oakland Promise Scholarship is open to Oakland public and charter high school seniors who meet our eligibility requirements.

To close the funding gap and reduce financial barriers for Oakland students, Oakland Promise will provide need-based college scholarships to all eligible students from low-income backgrounds.

Oakland Promise Scholarship Application Form Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible to apply for the Oakland Promise Scholarship:

• 2.0 GPA
• Attend and graduate from the Oakland District in the spring and begin as a full-time student at an accredited non-profit university in the United States in the fall.
• Demonstrate financial need as calculated by FAFSA or CA Dream Act application. Answer two short essays (300-500 words)
• Why do you want to attend college or a CTE program?
• What is a noteworthy challenge you have faced and how can the Oakland Promise
• Does a scholarship assist you in your future plans?
• Be engaged in serving your community.

Oakland Promise Scholarship Application Form Application Requirements

Applicants must complete the following steps for their application to be regarded right:

• Apply to at least one post-secondary institution
• Submit your FAFSA or CA Dream Act application by the March deadline
• Submit the complete Oakland Promise Scholarship Application

As per the reports, eligible students can submit their applications on 10th March 2024.

How Much Is The Oakland Promise Scholarship?

● CTE (Career Technical Education) - $2,000 ($1000/year) for 2 years payable in installments twice a year

● 4-year Colleges/Universities - $4,000 ($1000/year) for 4 years payable in installments twice a year

Important Note - There are limited larger scholarships valued at $8k & $16k for 4 year-bound Scholars.

● 2-year Colleges/Universities - $2,000 ($1000/year) for 2 years payable in installments twice a year
