In India, education is a right for all, regardless of financial background. However, the rising costs of education have turned it into a luxury for many. To bridge this gap, the Rajasthan government introduced the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence in honor of the former president, Rajiv Gandhi.
Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has urged the state government to promptly release funds to selected youths under the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme. He emphasized the scheme's aim to provide free education abroad to 500 children, currently facing delays.
"The Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence scheme, started by our government to provide free education to 500 children abroad, is also stuck in the new government. Due to this, children studying abroad are facing problems"
The Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence, launched by the Rajasthan State Government, supports students pursuing UG, PG, and Ph.D. degrees in foreign universities. Announced on Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary, this program grants scholarships of Rs. 10,00,000/- to students opting for the top 25 international colleges.
Established to support students pursuing degrees abroad, the scholarship aims to motivate meritorious students. With 200 scholarships available, it facilitates education in top global universities, covering expenses like tuition, maintenance, emergency funds, visa fees, and more.
