The Spain Seasonal Worker Visa is a temporary work visa under the Spain Employment Permit. This permit allows non-European citizens to work seasonally in Spain for up to 9 months in the agricultural, tourism, and hospitality sectors. As of February 17, 2024, the current minimum wage in Spain is €1,134.00 per month. This applies to all workers, including seasonal workers. This visa is designed to meet temporary labor needs.

Applicants will apply for a worker visa. This visa is for people aged 16 and over who want to work as an employee (with a work contract) in Spain. This visa covers seasonal work activities. In addition, the employee must also obtain work and residence permits before applying for the visa. The European Migration Network (EMN) reports that Spain issued 5,864 seasonal permits in 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

This is a temporary work visa for non-Europeans to work in Spain in certain sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and hospitality.

You can work for 9 months within 12 months. Your work permit will be valid for the same period as the work contract.

• As a non-European anyone can apply for a seasonal permit.
• Preference will be given to non-EU citizens coming from countries with which Spain has bilateral agreements.
• Countries with bilateral agreements: Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Morocco, Mauritania and Ukraine.
• The main country issuing 12,754 seasonal permits in 2018 was Morocco.
• Most temporary workers are hired for red fruit collection operations in spring and summer. Most seasonal workers are between the ages of 18 and 39.

Once you receive a job offer your employer must obtain a work permit from the provincial aliens affairs office, or any official department of labor from the various autonomous communities.

Once the work permit is authorized, a residence permit is also granted along with the work permit by the provincial aliens' affairs office.

How To Get A Work And Residence Visa?

Once the work permit has been authorized, you will need to apply for a work and residence visa at the embassy or consulate in your country of residence which will allow you to enter Spain to work.

• Select the Visa type. It will tell you about the Visa fee, the documents required, and the National Visa Application Form.
• Then Book an appointment through the BLS Visa application center.
• Visa interview: Attend an interview to answer questions about your application and plans.
