Women who want to pursue careers in science or technology have the opportunity to exchange experiences through the TechGirls Exchange program. TechGirls provides women with ways to engage with and develop their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while offering them opportunities to advance their careers.

The Exchange program in the USA has trained and mentored 392 teenage girls (ages 15-17) from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories, Tunisia, and Yemen since 2012. With the expansion of the program in 2019, young women from Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan) are now able to apply.

About TechGirls Exchange program in USA

This is a 100% Fully Funded Exchange opportunity, and it covers all costs including travel, accommodation, Health Insurance, food, etc. A dynamic 4-week experience in the U.S. will be combined with an 8-month mentoring program (including pre-and post-exchanges) for approximately 111 young women from 35 participating countries and 25 U.S. peers in 2025.

There is a possibility of a 25 day stay in the United States as part of the program that is a partnership between Virginia Tech University, which is tentatively scheduled to begin in July 2025. Participants of TechGirls not only gain knowledge and feel empowered, but they also return home to create community-based projects.

Workshops provide opportunities to learn from some of America's most innovative tech professionals, and we are partnered with Virginia Tech's Center for Enhancing Engineering Diversity to provide an engineering camp for students. By providing women with access to a rich cultural immersion experience, Technology Girls strive to encourage them to pursue higher education in fields where women are underrepresented and, as a result, enhance their chances of landing technical jobs.

Eligibility Crietria of TechGirls Exchange program in the USA

• It is required that you are between the ages of 15 and 17.
