The IIASA – International Institute for Applied System Analysis is accepting applications for the Young Scientists Program in Austria. The IIASA is an international and independent research institute that conducts research work that is policy-oriented. The Young Scientist Program is aimed at students currently pursuing their Ph.D. Their topic should be compatible with the research topics which the IIASA is working on currently.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants from all over the world can apply, however, applicants from the member countries will be given preference.
  • Applicants should be in the latter stages of their Ph.D. degree

  2. Advanced Systems Analysis
  3. Ecosystem Services and Management
  4. Energy
  5. volution and Ecology
  6. Transitions to New Technologies
  7. Water
  8. World Population
  9. Risk and Resilience

Flagship Projects at the IIASA:

  • Tropical Futures Initiative
  • Water Futures and Solutions Initiative
  • Challenges and Opportunities of Economic Integration within European and Eurasian Space.
  • Integrated Solutions for Water, Energy, and Land (ISWEL)

The scholarship will cover:

  • National members will provide special scholarships to students. This will include :
  • A monthly stipend that may vary but is usually Euro 1310/month
  • Airfare
  • Tuition fee
  • More funding options can be thought of for chosen candidates who cannot afford the rent/accommodation etc.
