Australia Awards Scholarship 2024 Benefits

Australia Awards Scholarships offer recipients a range of benefits to support their academic journey and living expenses:

• Full Tuition Fees:

Covers the entirety of tuition fees for the duration of the recipient's studies.

• Accommodation Expenses and Study Materials:

Contributes to accommodation expenses, textbooks, and study materials.

• Return Air Travel:

Covers the cost of a single return economy class airfare to and from Australia, via the most direct route.

• Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE):

Offers a fortnightly contribution to basic living expenses, provided at a rate determined by the department.

• Pre-course English (PCE) Fees:

Covers fees for any required English language courses before the commencement of formal academic studies.

• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC):

Provides health insurance for the duration of the award, covering basic medical costs (excluding pre-existing conditions) for the scholar.

Australia Awards Scholarship 2024 

To be eligible for Australia Awards Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Language Requirement:

Proficiency in English is necessary for application.

• Eligible Countries:

Applicants must be citizens of participating countries in Asia, Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. The complete list of participating countries is available on the Australia Awards website.

• Age Requirement:

Applicants must be at least 18 years old on 1 February of the year they commence the scholarship.

• Citizenship Status:

Applicants must not be citizens of Australia, hold permanent residency in Australia, or be applying for a visa to permanently reside in Australia.

• Residency:

Applicants must be citizens of a participating country and apply for the scholarship from their country of citizenship.

• Spousal Citizenship:

Applicants must not be married to, engaged to, or in a de facto relationship with a person who holds or is eligible to hold, Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.

• Previous Australia Awards:

Applicants must not have previously received a long-term Australia Award unless they have resided outside of Australia for twice the length of their previous stay in Australia.

• Military Service:

Applicants must not be current-serving military personnel.

• Specific Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy any specific criteria established by the Program Area or the government of their country of citizenship, such as working a certain number of years in an appropriate sector.

• Visa Requirements:

Applicants must satisfy all requirements of the Department of Home Affairs to hold a Student Visa. The Program Area may withdraw an award offer if the recipient cannot meet the visa requirements.

• Admission Requirements:

Applicants must satisfy the admission requirements of the institution where the award will be undertaken. The Program Area may withdraw an award offer if the recipient cannot meet the institution's admission requirements.

• Academic Level:

Applicants must not apply for a scholarship for a course of study at a level lower than they have already achieved. For example, they should not apply for a Master's scholarship if they already hold a PhD.

• Disclosure of Relationships:

Applicants must inform the Program Area of any connection or relationship with staff employed at Program Areas or managing contractors to ensure transparent management of the application process.
