GEMS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024

The University of Sheffield will offer one GEMS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship in 2024. This scholarship is a competitive award worth 10,000 Euros toward the tuition fee for an undergraduate degree program starting in autumn 2024. The International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships are available for new international students who meet the eligibility criteria.

Applicants must hold an offer to study at the University of Sheffield before they apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria For GEMS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024

To be eligible for GEMS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

• You must be currently studying at a GEMS institution in the United Arab Emirates.
• You must receive an offer to study a full-time or part-time undergraduate degree or foundation degree program at the University of Sheffield before you can apply for this scholarship.
• Your degree/foundation program must be scheduled to commence at the University of Sheffield in September 2024. All undergraduate degree courses are eligible with the exceptions of Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200).
• You must receive an offer for a course studied in full at the University of Sheffield. Degree programs split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.
• For tuition fee purposes you must be self-funded and eligible to pay the overseas tuition fee.
• You must not be a sponsored student*.
• You must enter a degree program at the University of Sheffield in program year 1 or year 2.
• For scholarship purposes, all March programs are considered postgraduate taught programs and are not eligible for any undergraduate scholarships.
• The University of Sheffield reserves the right to review and change scholarship provisions.

Selection Process For GEMS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2024

The selection process is competitive and not all applicants will be successful. A group of senior members of staff will select the strongest applications and will be looking for the following:

• Applicant has given examples of achievements that represent excellence and initiative in educational, voluntary, or extra-curricular areas.
• Applicants have shown how these achievements relate to the course they have applied for at the University of Sheffield and connected that to their future ambitions.
• The applicant has a strong academic profile.
