Eligibility Criteria for the National Overseas Scholarship Scheme:

To be eligible for the National Overseas Scholarship, applicants must meet certain criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  • For Master's: Minimum 60% at the undergraduate level.
  • For Doctorate: Minimum 60% at the Master’s level.
  • University ELP and Tests: Should meet the minimum scores set by various universities (PTE, GMAT, GRE, etc.).

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as of April 1 of the particular year.

Permissible Family Income Limit:

  • The total family income should not exceed Rs. 8,00,000.

Criteria For Children:

Only two children of the same parent can avail of this scholarship.

Additional Notes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree courses are not covered by this scholarship.
  • Candidates already studying or settled abroad are ineligible.
  • Only two candidates from the same family are eligible.
  • Candidates with prior relevant experience of two years will be preferred.

Documents Required for Overseas Scholarship Scheme:

Candidates need to submit the following documents to verify their eligibility for the National Overseas Scholarship 2025:

  • Caste or Category certificate
  • Birth certificate
  • Photo
  • Scanned signature
  • Current and permanent address proof
  • Qualifying mark sheet or degree
  • Valid document for marks
  • Valid document related to admission to foreign universities
  • The income certificate of all family members contributing to the household
  • Employer’s NOC certificate (if employed)
  • Upon selection, additional documents are required, including an attestation form, copy of Passport, self-declaration of total annual family income, and self-declaration regarding any pending case or non-conviction of offense.

  3. Fill out the form, upload the required documents, create a password, and submit the registration.
  4. Log in with credentials, click on “Apply” under National Overseas Scholarship, fill in the application form, and upload the necessary documents.
  5. Apply and note the provided reference number for future assistance.

Selection Process of National Overseas Scholarship:

The selection process involves multiple cycles and considers factors like unconditional offers from top-ranked foreign universities, merit lists, and tie-breakers based on qualifying examination marks. Provisional letters are issued to selected candidates, and they must join the course within three years.
