Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) offers a Fully Funded Internship program for international students. This program provides an opportunity for students in Bachelor's and master's programs or recently graduated, to undertake educational activities as research interns. The duration of the program is 2 to 6 months, and students from any region can apply.
A competitive process is used to award Research Internships twice a year. Research proposals are selected highly competitively according to their suitability, academic background, funding capabilities, and available space. Vacancies won't be filled in all cases.

15 April and 15 Oct 2025 is the last date to apply for this Fully Funded Internship in Japan. The result will be in June 2025.
To apply for the OIST Internship program, applicants must fill out the online application form and submit the required documents. The application process is competitive and requires a statement of purpose, academic transcript and diploma, recommendation letter, and ID photo.
