Introduced by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, the Post Matric Scholarship Meghalaya aims to financially support SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/EWS students. This initiative provides a substantial scholarship, ranging from Rs.7000 to Rs.13000, depending on residential status, to SC/ST students. OBC/SEBC/EWS students receive Rs.240 for day scholars and Rs.200 annually for hostellers. The scholarship amount is directly transferred to candidates' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method. Crucially, applicants from SC/ST/OBC communities should have an annual family income not exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakh, and there is no application fee. Selection is based on eligibility criteria and academic records.

To qualify, you must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya and belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC, and EWS communities. Enroll in class 11th, 12th, Undergraduate, or Postgraduate levels, with an annual family income not exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakh. Importantly, applicants should not be involved in any other scholarship program.
Administered by the SC/ST and MBC Welfare Department, Government of India, the scholarship offers financial support to SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/EWS students. Day scholars receive Rs.240 (OBC/SEBC/EWS) to Rs.7000 (SC/ST), while hostellers receive Rs.200 (OBC/SEBC/EWS) to Rs.13000 (SC/ST). The scholarship amount is transferred via the DBT method directly to candidates' bank accounts.
Ensure you have the necessary documents, including College/Institution ID, Residential Certificate, Income Certificate, Institute Declaration Certificate, Matriculation Certificate, Divyang Certificate (if applicable), Photograph, Aadhaar Card, Valid Mobile Number, Valid Email ID, Marksheet, Certificate of the last qualifying examination, and Bank Account Details.
