Summer Internship in Berlin is offered every summer by HZB to undergraduate students. The applications are now open to apply for the Summer Students program in Germany, so must apply and do not lose this amazing opportunity.

During the summer of 2025, there will be a student program from July 4 to August 29. The global pandemic situation may necessitate changes, even cancellation of the program.

About Summer Internship in Berlin, Germany

Students in this program have the opportunity to interact with their research teams at their labs or experimental facilities, located on the HZB campuses in Berlin-Wannsee or Berlin-Adlershof. In close cooperation with scientists, students from around the world develop their research projects. Site visits take place at BESSY II, a synchrotron radiation source, and a proton accelerator producing proton beams to treat eye tumors.

Benefits of Summer Internship in Berlin

You will receive the following as part of this fully-funded internship program.

1. The total cost of travel from Berlin to your location and vice versa will be provided to you.
2. An allowance of 1800 euros will be provided as a subsistence allowance.
3. During your summer student program, you will be allowed to work on the project.

Eligibility Criteria of Summer Internship in Berlin

Applying for this program requires that you meet the following criteria.

1. Applicants must have completed two years of study in an eligible field. Please see below for a list of eligible fields.
2. You must have a good command of English.
3. Students with a keen understanding of German may be given preference.
4. You must have a reference letter on hand.
