As a way to honor our nation's public safety personnel, descendants of municipal, county, and state police and firemen who died in the line of duty or the line of duty can apply for up to four years of full-tuition scholarships and are eligible to do so.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor named "Homer" and additional support from friends and former university classmates, the Odyssey Scholarship Program provides enhanced educational, financial, and career assistance to first-time students from low-income families or in their community to attend college.
Through these measures, financial aid for students belonging to the Hispanic/Latino population has been improved.
Through this program, students in the Chicagoland area can receive financial aid as well as other benefits.
Chicago Public Schools Students: Outstanding graduates of Chicago Public Schools will be eligible for a full tuition-covering scholarship for up to four years.
Chicago Public Schools Teachers: In appreciation of their commitment to the city and community, a select group of outstanding students taught by current Chicago full-time teachers and non-leadership staff at community colleges will earn a full-tuition scholarship for four years.
Partner Schools: Nicholas Sain High School, Providence St. Mel School, Kenwood Academy High School, University of Chicago Charter School Woodlawn Campus, and outstanding students from our region will be awarded full tuition and four-year scholarships.
City Colleges of Chicago: Under the CCC STAR Program, eligible alumni of the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) will be awarded a first-year tuition subsidy.
The Evans Scholars Program provides full housing and tuition assistance to eligible club members.
Stand together:
The University of Chicago Stand Together project provides increased financial aid and faculty support to veterans and students from historically underrepresented groups.
Trott Scholar:
The Trott Scholarship, which is awarded for four years, will be awarded to exceptional full-time students from small towns.
Giants:
As a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Initiative at the University of Chicago.
They also encourage students to apply for scholarships from outside areas, regardless of where they plan to attend college. Our Financial Aid Office has created an index of external scholarships.
The University of Chicago and RaiseMe, a platform that allows students to apply and earn micro-scholarships based on their high school achievements, are pleased partners of this initiative. There are also new and growing collaborations including Turning the Tide, College Board, Making Caring Common, Nudge for College, and the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success.
